This piece was written after a period of intensive following of the news, in which there were always children to be seen living in the ruins of their cities. This piece reflects these images and expresses the hope and desire that these children will see light in their lives again.

Rainy Days In Amsterdam

During a visit of several days in Amsterdam it was raining cats and dogs most of the time. I had a guitar with me, as I often do, and tried to capture the hustle and bustle of the different cultures in this city in music.

Duck’s Dilemma

Back then, when my daughter was still playing with her squeaking duck in the bathtub, I often became a witness of many a life struggle of the yellow animal.

My Friends In Kraków

For about 10 years I taught regularly at the International Summer Jazz Academy in Krakow, Poland. During these years I made many friends there. This piece is for them.

Sleepy Phil

In 1992, watching my nephew falling asleep inspired me and led me to write this piece. At that time in 3/4 time. In 2004 I rewrote it in 5/4 time, which seemed more appropriate.
