NOX contemporary jazz – New Ideas (CD, 2002)

„New heads, a new instrument. New views because of trombone and drums. New ideas and compositions suddenly get new perspectives. Because of the new sound there are new structures growing within the band. Supported by the sound of keyboards the compositions of the first seven years were located in fusion and groove; relied on and influenced by musicians like The Yellowjackets, Steps Ahead and Miles. The new pieces simply belong to contemporary jazz music. The arrangements now get carried melodically by two horns, often written in a contrapuntal way. The transparent sound of the guitar – electric and acoustic – completes the polymelodic color in the new timbre of the band with harmonies as well as with its third voice. More courage to openness on the one hand and influences of original music on the other hand let new form structures happen, which again create more open improvisations. These structures will develop or burst open with the help of electronic possibilities with such as loop-machines etc. Who could and would say that already now?“ Martin Schaberl

Martin Schaberl – frame & electric guitars, composition, arrangements
David Mayrl – alto & tenor saxophone, soprano & alto flute
Mario Vavti – trombone
Martin Kratky – electric bass
Gregor Josel – drums

Agata Pisko Trio – On Air (CD, 2002)

The repertoire we have chosen for the CD includes popular songs from the Swing era played at that time, or harmonized and interpreted by our trio in a more modern way. Besides, we play our favorites from later times. You will find here a composition by Lennon and McCartney as well as an original by Keith Jarrett. We have also decided to add a Polish flavor. That is why you will hear „Moje Miasto“ (The Town I Come From), a pop tune written by a young composer from Cracow, Poland, and „Dwa serduszka, cztery oczy“ (Two Hearts, Four Eyes), a Polish folk song.

Agata Pisko – vocals
Martin Schaberl – nylon & steel string guitars
Christian Seiner – double & electric bass
